A member of the Division of Endocrinology & Diabetes in Del Mar, Dr. Fujioka is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Clinical Nutrition. He has extensive experience in medical problems of both underweight and overweight individuals, and works extensively with metabolic problems (slow metabolism, eating disorders, diabetes, weight gain, cholesterol problems). He has expertise in nutritional treatment of medical problems, and hyperalimentation.

He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii School of Medicine and had a fellowship in Diabetes and Clinical Nutrition at the University of Southern California Medical Center. He has published in the fields of obesity, nutrition, and hyperalimentation.

He divides his time between private practice in internal medicine and clinical nutrition, and as Director of the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center. He is a principal investigator in numerous studies testing investigational (not yet approved by the FDA) weight loss medications, diabetes agents, and blood pressure medications.
